Long and hopefully successful day!
I easily sattied into todays $256 6max FTOPS event and also the $535 HU FTOPS event yesterday. I've decided not to play the HU event though because I'd rather use the tourney dollars for a bunch of $75s instead, and also a couple of $100 freeze outs on Stars. Definitely think that's a wise bankroll/variance decision.
Anyway, here's my tentative schedule for today. Nothing too crazy. Might throw in a couple others (i.e. the evening $55 6maxs on Stars), but for now this will will certainly suffice:

Calm before the storm
Getting some rest before a long day of tourneys tomorrow. My girlfriend and I are going to see Ludo at The Basement tonight, then go roller skating afterward. Hopefully I won't drink too much tonight - alcohol always throws off my Sunday grind.
Finished 5th in the 27.5k on FTP for about 2.1k. Feeling a little better about my tourney game recently, and it's only going to get better. My bustout hand was pretty gross... 2 hands prior I was crippled when I 3-bet shoved 22 on the button 5 handed, and the BB reshipped behind me with AKo. JTx flop... Q turn, doh! Was down to maybe 4bb (avg stack was only like 18 at this point though). 2 hands later I pick up AKo and snap ship pre. The guy directly to my left, a shorty as well (but had me covered), iso-ships with KJs. Then the button ships over both of us with AQo. Wish that was all the action I was up against, but the BB just haaaaaaad to wake up with KK lol. Flop came JTx, which gave me a nice little sweat, but the Kings held and I was out.
Going to put together my schedule for tomorrow right now - might post it later.

UGHHH
Just 3 tourneys left today, and it's been hell so far. As we speak I'm spewing with KQo sigh... make that 2 tourneys left.
Got one guy to put like an 80BB stack in on a Txx flop when he had JT and I had AA. Turns another J, gg 22^3... gg top 3 stack. Such a good tourney too fml.
FTOPS #2 was a riot. It's unreal how bad people are at that game, and yet, how much equity I fail to capitalize on. And it's not that I played poorly.... Q one time? yeahhhh just sucked out with QQ vs KK in the 80k on Stars, ship ship. Anyway, I got my stack in about 3 times in the FTOPS where I was either drawing big to a scoop (and guaranteed 1/2), or was drawing to 1/2 OR potentially a scoop (was a big fav equity-wise that hand)... and the best result of those 3 hands was one split. Meh, I'm not going to bitch about it anymore, but I love PLO8 tourneys and would LOVEEEEEEEE to get deep in one since I think I have an edge over 95% of the players. I've always done really well deep in those tourneys since I focus a lot more and my A game is pretty damn good imo.
Uh oh.... 99999999999999999999999999999999 HOLDDDDDDDDDDDDD ONE TIMEEEEEEEEEEE whewww. Just shipped 12bb UTG+1 with 99 and got snap iso'd by AK. Such bubble holds. Anyway, not much else going on... will post again soon.
Get well soon Mom!!!! :(

Mixing cash and tourneys
Good news! I've recently agreed to a backing arrangement to play lots more tourneys, and I'm pretty pumped about it. I want to thank dpottz/the warden for the opportunity, and hope to pick up some sick scores very soon. Fwiw, he picked a good horse :)
I decided to play a small late night session of MTTs on the first day I was officially "backed" (Feb 3rd), and I was lucky enough to ship a small PLO8 tourney on FTP for $1200ish. Not a bad start obv. Played about 20 tourneys tonight, including FTOPS #1, and ended up breaking even (including the handful of sattys that went really well). Had a bunch of small cashes and that was it, but I actually felt pretty good about how I was playing. I ran quite well to start the night off, and seemed to be doubling up in one tourney or another every few minutes. But when it came to the BIG ones, things just didn't go my way.
Maybe the most disappointing bust out was when I open shipped pre from the CO with QQ and 14-15BBs, knowing full well that the guys behind me were likely to snap me off with a pretty wide range. DJK flatted, the BB mucked, and he flipped AA and held. Doh! Finished 20-something out of 950 in that one, oh well. Also busted quite early in the FTOPS event when my AKo couldn't out-race 99. Villain played the hand pretty damn miserably - I opened UTG or UTG+1, MP guy flats, and villain OTB 3-bets. I end up shipping with more than enough FE and villain tank calls with the nines. Dude is prob worse than a 2-1 dog against my shoving range there lol w/e.
I sorta killed the rebuys tonight, if by killing I mean I cashed in all of them lol. 3r/5r/11r on Stars and the 11r on FTP. Best finish was 112th out of 3500ish in the 5r, mehhh.
I'll probably play an afternoon session of tourneys tomorrow, and then possibly some cash in the evening if I don't go out. Ah crap, I gotta check out the FTOPS schedule to see what events are tomorrow (well, today).
Lata.

Back on track :)
The past week or so has been great on poker.com, and very reminiscent of last year when I was making a very steady profit. I've won 9 of the last 11 sessions, and the 2 losses were only for about $80 combined after rake. I've made about $3k over that span while averaging only about 2 hours of play per session. $136/hr isn't bad playing 100nl/200nl imo, though I realize it's not sustainable. However, I think $80/hr or so is so that's what I'll be shooting for.
I owe some of my recent success to a couple of things. One is that I've been watching lots of CR videos, which has helped me start thinking outside the box a bit. I'm playing a more deliberate and aggressive game, and it's been paying off. Another thing that has helped is that I've cut down on the # of tables. Doing this has allowed me to pick up on some small leaks that I wouldn't have noticed had I been playing 12-20 tables like usual. And on top of that, I'm having more fun because I'm not stuck playing like a damn robot.
Meh, that's about it for poker stuff...

Been a while!
Nothing particularly incredible has happened poker-wise in the past 3 months, so I haven't been all that motivated to keep this thing going. Currently battling through a sick sick downswing at 200nl and 400nl. I thought I was used to this stuff by now, but it still affects me a lot. Luckily though, this current cycle of sessions has took a turn for the better, and I'm scratching my way out of that hole pretty quickly. I'm sticking to 200nl, not because I'm not good enough to beat 400nl, but because the swings are obviously much less severe.
Just yesterday I had one of the sickest sweats of my life. Was playing some 6max on Poker.com -- one of the Bat Beat tables. The Jackpot is well over $1 million right now, which is pretty ridiculous. Anyway, I picked up KK (no heart) and raised it up from the CO over a short stack EP limper. One of the blinds calls and so does the limper. Flop comes QJx with 2 hearts, the guy in the blind checks, the EP limper leads for 3/4 pot or so, and I raise it up hoping to get the shorty in. He shoves his remaining stack (only a couple bucks) and I obv snap. He flips AThh... turn is the Kh giving him the royal flush and me top set. River? BRICKKKKKKK! One card away from scooping up about $800k. Sighhhhhhhhhhh, soooo gross.
Anyway, not much else to say. Kylee and I are going on a cruise after exams are done this quarter. We're leaving out of Miami and going through the eastern Caribbean for 7 days. So fuckin bumped for that, it's obv gunna be a blast. Umm what else? Got new skis, boots, bindings, and poles a few weeks ago. Finally! My next big purchase is probably going to be a big LCD HD television. Meh, no rush, I'm not a huge TV watcher anyway.
Oh, I also just wrote a new article for PocketFives. It should be going up in the next couple of days, so keep an eye on the front page!
